Welcome to my blog. I’m a freelance sports journalist and broadcaster with more than a decade of experience in print, radio and online.
A versatile and multi-skilled freelancer, I have reported and commentated on both league and non-league football for BBC local radio since 2003, and, more recently, the professional tennis circuit for online TV providers. I have also worked for local newspapers as a sports reporter, sub-editor and general news reporter. Anyone wanting to find out more about my work, or contact me about freelance shifts, should visit my website – http://www.andrewraeburn.co.uk – or email me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
My interests stretch far beyond the newsroom and commentary position. I’m a keen follower of both local and national politics and have an obsession with pop and rock music which borders on the obsessional.
I’ve also qualified as a football referee and been involved in charity work in both voluntary and paid capacities. That, and I once came 14th in the British Championship minigolf tournament*.
I use this blank white space to air my thoughts – and those of others – on all things sport, as well as random musings as the mood takes me. I hope you like it. If not, feel free to tell me why not.
*this is 100 per cent true.
